Pandit Ram Sahai Sangit Vidyalaya was founded in 1965 in Benares by Pt. Sharda Sahai and supported by a group of professional and amateur musicians, businessmen, government electives and music lovers who were committed to the vision to enable anyone to learn music & dance irrespective of their background and means.
These values and traditions continued when in 1987 Pt. Sharda Sahai and Dr. Frances Shepherd co-founded Pandit Ram Sahai Sangit Vidyalaya in the UK as a registered charity.
Our current board is made up of people with a track record of working to enrich the lives of people through the performing arts, either directly as performers and educators, or through their support for artists and organisations that do.
