Sachin Khetani is a senior student of the late Pandit Sharda Sahai. He started to learn Tabla at PRSSV at the age of 4 and now 20 years later he has taken classical Tabla to a more commercial audience. Sachin has worked with various artists such as Youth (Paul McCartney’s producer), Hype & fever, London Mozart Players, Spragga Benz and many more. He has a BA degree in Commercial Music and is now teaching Tabla and working alongside PRSSV and their students to stretch Indian Classical Music.
Frances Shepherd, Director of PRSSV is an ethnomusicologist is an ethnomusicologist who has specialised in the performing arts of the Indian sub-continent. She has been strategic and forward thinking in looking at the health and growth of the sector. Having been Senior Lecturer in music at Dartington College of Arts and then Kingston University, today she runs Sangeet College and oversees the teachers across the disciplines of Tabla, Sitar, Bansuri, Vocal and Kathak and continues to nurture musicians of tomorrow.
