PRSSV Sangeet College presents a celebration of Indian classical music and dance. Its students and teachers will take you on a journey of:-
- Classical Dance called ‘Kathak’. The term Kathak is derived from the Vedic Sanskrit word meaning ‘she who tells a story’.
- Bansuri (Indian flute), Sitar and Vocal groups will give renditions of melodic modes known as Raags.
- The Tabla students will explore a range of rhythmic expressions within time cycles known as Taals.
- The evening will culminate with a performance by PRSSV teachers performing Kathak dance and providing live instrumental accompaniment.
We will be raising donations at the event for “aid of the Afghanistan Crisis Appeal” and UNICEF ‘children in Ukraine’ appeals.
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is in Afghanistan for vulnerable children and their families. They are delivering essential health supplies, water and lifesaving food, as well as providing supplies to help displaced families prepare for the onset of a harsh winter. They are also advocating for the rights of children in Afghanistan, including the right for all children to have an education.
UNICEF is especially concerned for the safety and wellbeing of children who have become separated from their families.
