Kiranpal Singh journeyed from the foothills of Kenya’s Kilimanjaro to UK and Mumbai. Suffused with a great curiosity and philosophy for life and the larger world, this 100 string Santoor playing troubadour takes his music around the world to weave the magic of glistening web like ragas on his musical loom.
Kiranpal Singh Deoora is one of a select few performers of Indian Classical Music on the Santoor. He is one of the UK’s leading musicians, having learnt his art in the traditional way in Bombay, from the Santoor innovator Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma through the support of His Holiness Satguru Jagjit Singh Maharaj, the then spiritual Head of Namdhari Sikhs.
Born in Tanazania, Kiranpal now lives in London. He plays regular concerts all over the globe. He has played for HRH Prince Phillip at Buckingham Palace, as well as South Bank Halls numerous times. He has played at Spittalfields Festival and London Mela as well as other prestigious festivals. His mastery of the advanced techniques of the Santoor has allowed him to develop a wide repertoire and reveal his spontaneous imagination in performance.
