Gayaki Ang – Partha Bose & Esha Bandyopadhyay

We welcome two wonderful artists from India for this special double bill concert of Gayaki Ang, so named as it refers to singing as well as to a vocal approach of playing the sitar.

PRSSV’s Baithak series (intimate music gatherings) provide unique opportunities for audiences to experience Indian classical art forms at close quarters.

1st Half

Esha Bandoyapadhyay, an outstanding vocalist reputed for her mellifluous voice and her mastery of the different vocal forms – Khyal, Thumri (Purab Ang), Dadra and Bhajan.

2nd Half

Pt. Partha Bose is a highly acclaimed sitar player form India with 35 years of performances in India and abroad. He is renowned for his ability to weave technical virtuosity with emotional expression.

They will be accompanied on Tabla by Dheeraj Sahai-Mishra, ‘a player of rhythmic virtuosity’(Songlines magazine) and on Harmonium by Sunil Jadhav, a versatile musician and composer.
